Douglas Jeal is primarily a sculptor engaged in ways in which we communicate ideas through the exploration of light, place, colour and form.
Born in South Croydon, he studied Fine Art at Croydon College of Art, Sculpture at St Martins School of Art and has a post graduate degree in European Fine Art from Southampton University.
A Fulbright Scholar, he has contributed to the debate on public art in America and Europe.
He is a member of the Public Art Steering Group for Cambridge City Council.
He has work in both state and private collections in the USA and Europe.
